Avery L. Yarbrough
Thirty-nine years ago, when Avery Yarbrough began an illustrious career in real estate, his job was to serve as a buyer representative for a national corporation. He recalls, “The training and experience that I received early on in representing the buyer in negotiation and acquisition of properties formed the foundation for my future business successes in various fields of real estate.”
In the course of his real estate career, Mr. Yarbrough has:
Organized, owned and managed separate commercial and residential real estate brokerage companies.
Owned a construction company specializing in residential construction.
Developed several residential subdivisions.
Owned and operated a mortgage brokerage company.
Developed and managed the largest real estate company in his state.
Functioned as a real estate investor with ownership in properties valued in millions of dollars.
Another part of his success has been his activities for and with REBAC. Since first teaching the ABR® Designation course in 1997, Mr. Yarbrough has sponsored and/or instructed more than 110 REBAC courses. His talent as an instructor has been recognized by the excellent instructor evaluations he consistently receives, as well as by his designation as holder of the Distinguished Real Estate Instructor (DREI), awarded by the Real Estate Educators Association. He currently serves as a REEA Director.
A prolific writer, Mr. Yarbrough is completing his fourth book, Tainted Communication in Real Estate. One of his books, The Study of Real Estate in Alabama, was approved by the Alabama Real Estate Commission for the state’s required pre-license course. More than 50,000 students have used the book in preparing for licensing. He has also contributed to REBAC’s newsletter, Today’s Buyer’s Rep.
