Recertification Workshops

Instructor Recertification workshops are central to REBAC’s ongoing instructor training program. These sessions are held so that instructors can: 1) meet their recertification requirements; 2) improve their teaching skills; 3) stay current on key REBAC organization information that must be conveyed to students; and, 4) expand their teaching opportunities.

Instructor Recertification Workshops are held each year in conjunction with NAR’s REALTORS® Conference & Expo and Mid-year Legislative Meetings, and at the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA) meeting. Occasionally, training sessions are also held at NAR’s Chicago headquarters or other locations, depending on when new course material becomes available.

Recertification Program

All REBAC instructors must complete our one-day Instructor Recertification Workshop every two years. Materials for the ABR® Designation Course are revised every two years, so the recertification training ensures that instructors are keeping their courses current, vital, and viable. The first part of the workshop is devoted to reviewing changes in course content and new teaching techniques. During the afternoon, we focus on instructor development, with different topics designed to assist instructors with their teaching skills.

Auditing a Course

Instructor Recertification Workshop sessions are often scheduled in conjunction with other REBAC courses, providing convenient opportunities for instructors to sit in on courses they may want to teach. If REBAC instructors cannot attend one of these sessions, they can opt instead to take the course in a live setting from an instructor who has taught it at least twice before and has received excellent evaluations. A complete list of courses that can be audited (with limited exceptions) is available at CourseCalendar.com.

New ABR® Instructors

If you’ve recently become a REBAC instructor, you are urged to attend an ABR® Instructor Recertification Workshop at your earliest opportunity. New instructors find this training extremely beneficial to their future teaching success. In addition to covering updates on course content, these sessions review key information to pass along to students, including details on REBAC paperwork, member benefits, and everything that students should know as REBAC members.

Upcoming Sessions

The following sessions will be offered in conjunction with the Midyear Legislative Meetings, held from May 10 to 15, 2010 in Washington D.C.
